We invite you to spend your vacation in the floating hotel, which is located in Chivyrkuysky Bay, the most magnificent bay of Lake Baikal. The hotel is located on a barge floating through the waterways of the Baikal.
The bay is situated in the Special Protection National Territory “Zapovednoe Podlemoriye”, where any business activities, which include buildings and facilities construction, are prohibited. That’s why the centre was built on the barge. Visitors can get to this place only by boat, helicopter or on foot. The nearest inhabited locality is 10 km far by water.
The floating Hotel on Lake Baikal offers twelve small double rooms from 8 to 11 sq. m. One of the rooms is a mansard which is the best for married couples. Apart from the floating hotel on Lake Baikal there are four spacious yurts on the shore of the Baikal. You can experience the features of Buryat life, the indigenous population of the Republic of Buryatia.
Special attention is given to food. The hotel offers delicious homemade cuisine, house specialties of fresh fish cooked in different ways: grilled or smoke-cured fish, cutlets, stuffed pike, salted omul. There is a bar where you can have a snack or buy a can of beer.
During your stay you can visit the Barguzin Nature Reserve, the Ushkan Islands, Olkhon Island, and see Nerpas (Baikal seals) in their natural habitat.

The Islands of Chivyrkuysky Bay
You can get to Lokhmatyi (shaggy – En.) Island (in winter the island is covered with numerous icicles, hence the name) by a powerboat. The trail leads to Belyi Kamen Island near Golyi Island. You will view numerous nesting spots on Baklani Island and take panoramic pictures.
The Ushkan Islands
You will be transferred to the famous Ushkan Islands, the North end of the peninsula Svyatoi Nos, by a powerboat. You will visit Tonki Island, which is located in the Barguzin Nature Reserve and see the constant rookery of nerpa, the Baikal endemic. You will see them swimming and lying on the sun, and can also take pictures of them. You will have a lunch aboard the ship.
The tour to the Barguzin Nature Reserve
You will go to the outflow of the Shumilikha River by the powerboat, 10 km by the river upstream. During the trip you will see magnificent mountain lakes and waterfalls. You’ll be able to swim in a clear mountain lake and enjoy the astounding scenery of the wild nature.
The Barguzin Valley, the Lamaist temple and the Barguzin Ridge
You will be transferred to the Monakhovo Cove, where comfortable cars will wait for you. After passing through the picturesque isthmus, you will find yourself at the beginning of the Barguzin valley. You will see The Barguzin Ridge with its snowy peaks on the way (100 km) to the Lamaist temple of a Fertility Goddess. After visiting the sacred place, you can go to the stone with a miraculous face of the Goddess. Then you will come to the sacred Buddhist stupa, and after that, you will come back to the hotel.
Island of Svyatoy Eleny (Saint Helena Island)
The Ongokonskaya Cove is situated close to the Floating Hotel on Lake Baikal; there is the Island of Svyatoi Eleny (Saint Helena Island). You guide will tell you the misterious legend associated with this place. After hicking around the island and making panoramic pictures you will come back to the hotel.
Fishing trip to the Malaya Cheremshana River
You will go to the outflow of the Malaya Cheremshana River by powerboat. Under the guidance of a fishing guide you will be able to catch Baikal grayling and cook it right there. The trip lasts the whole day.
Fishing trip to Arangatui Lake
First, you will come to the isthmus named “Karga” by powerboat. Then, by inflatable motor boat, you will reach the Lake Arangatui, where you will enjoy pike fishing. If you are lucky, you will be able to make some photos of endangered birds.
Hiking tour along the Krestovaya Cove
The rout passes through an old-growth forest along the coast of the Zmeinaya Cove. While hiking you will be able to see some endemic plants. After two-three hours of hiking, you will reach the enormous sand beach of the Krestovaya Cove. There you will taste fish soup cooked by a traditional recipe, swim and sunbathing. The return way is by powerboat.
