The baptism of Jesus is one of the major Christian holidays commemorated on 19th January.
There are usually 8 fonts in different parts of the city. The fonts open after the water in them is sanctified by priests. EMERCOM provides the safety of the event by preparing special warm places to change the clothes after the bathing and organizing ambulances standing by.
