The State Hermitage Museum
On the first Thursday of each month the Hermitage grants free entrance for all individual visitors.

The Hermitage is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious museums. The museum houses over 3 million items including the largest collection of paintings in the world. The collections occupy a large complex of six historic buildings along Palace Embankment.
Once you are in the museum on the first Thursday of the month, take your free ticket at the box office and enjoy exploring world’s richest art collection.
It is worth noting that preschool children, schoolchildren, and students irrespective of citizenship visit the Hermitage free of charge at any time.
Remember, the “free” action is not extended to guided tours.
