In the XXIX autumn season, the Festival guests will enjoy musical premieres in the new palace halls.
The autumn season of the Festival starts with a concert dedicated to the great tenor Sergei Lemeshev in the Bronze Hall of the Polovtsov Mansion. Opera arias, sincere Russian songs, lyrical romances will be performed by magnificent tenors, soloists of leading opera theaters, laureates of international competitions. The rich palette of Sergei Lemeshev’s repertoire will be presented by Boris Stepanov, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theater, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, St. Petersburg and Riga Philharmonic Societies; Boris Arndt, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, guest soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theater; Tigran Ohanyan is one of the most promising young opera performers of our time. Maria Safaryants, Artistic Director of the Palaces of St. Petersburg Festival, will tell about the creative biography of the legendary tenor.
In October, the first concert will take place in the restored state Resurrection hall of the Mikhailovsky Castle with the participation of cultural figures from Italy, a solemn ceremony will also take place with the participation of the Consul General of Italy; the music of the most romantic composers of the twentieth century will be performed for the first time in the Nicholas Palace; in the Presidential Library (the building of the Holy Synod), soloists of leading opera theaters will perform the most famous opera arias, fascinating comments about the heroes of the works will be heard from the actor Boris Smolkin, beloved by many;
In November, the festival guests will enjoy a large-scale concert in honor of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Empire; an evening of old Italian arias with the participation of stars of the opera scene of Russia and Italy will be held in the Great Italian Lumen of the State Hermitage Museum.
In December, the first concert will take place in one of the restored famous St. Petersburg mansions, which will open its doors to the guests of the festival for the first time.
