2020 Bandy World Championship is held in one of the largest centres of Siberia – Irkutsk, in the Baikal Ice Palace from 29 of March till 6 of April. The championship will be held between men’s national teams of bandy playing nations. It is the fortieth Bandy World Championship.
A great number of sportsmen and their fans will be visiting Siberia. All matches of the A tournament are held in the Baikal Ice Palace. The countries that will take part in the championship are Hungary, Latvia, Netherlands, Slovakia, Somalia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Japan, Mongolia, Switzerland.
Bandy is a game similar to ice hockey. Both of the games are popular winter sports around the world. In 2019 Russia became a champion in Bandy World Championship, and the 2020 Bandy World Championship is held in Irkutsk. The Baikal region is famous for winter sports competitions, such as Baikal extreme ice racing “Baikal Ice Storm”, Baikal Ice Skating, XVI Baikal Ice Marathon, Baikal World Cup of Ice Golf 2020, Dog sledding Championship, Ice sailing World Championship, Russian Alpine Skiing Championship and many others.
