Description of the Three-day Baikal fishing tour:

The Baikal harbors about 60 different species of fish. The most popular are pike, perch, grayling and omul. The fishing takes place in Chivyrkuysky bay, one of the biggest bays of the Baikal. Surrounded by dense wild taiga the bay is considered the most picturesque place of the Baikal.

Some of lacustrine fish come from the Baikal to Chivyrkuysky Bay for spawning. From August to September, one can catch pikes of up to 33 lb (15 kg) and over 2 lb (1 kg) perch. Omul spawns in Bolshoy Chivyrkuy River that flows into the bay at its northern end. The commercial fishing is strictly prohibited in the bay.

The highlight of the tour is the untouched nature of the Chivyrkuysky bay that belongs to the protected zone with limited access. A visit to the thermal springs of the Zmeinaya bay is incredibly rewarding, as they are known by their healing properties. Beside you will experience traditional Russian banya (steam room) and enjoy the meal made of freshly caught Baikal fish.

The three-day Baikal fishing tour is available from Ulan-Ude. For those who stay in Listvyanka or Irkutsk, we recommend you to book One-day Baikal Fishing trip.
