Want to add something special to your Moscow trip? Visit the Russian major producer of spacecraft, launch vehicles, rocket stages, and missiles – Rocket and Space Corporation Energia. The world’s first intercontinental ballistic missile and the first artificial satellite were made here. Energia serves as a main contractor for the International Space Station.

The corporation has a museum, which is closed to the general public. Displayed in the 1500 square meters of the museum is the history of development and achievements of Soviet and Russian spaceflight: from the first simplest spacecraft to the most complex advanced projects.

Unique exhibits of the museum of Rocket and Space Corporation Energia:
– The descent vehicle of the manned spacecraft Vostok-1. This spherical craft scorched by flames of reentry returned to Earth the first spaceman Yuri Gagarin.
– Vostok 6 spacecraft, in which Valentina Tereshkova (the first woman cosmonaut), orbited Earth for three days.
– Voskhod 2 capsule, from which Alexei Leonov made the first spacewalk in history.
– FULL-scale mockup of the “MIR” Space station. Visitors can get inside the Core module and explore its interior, the life support system, and amenities for space station crew.

Besides, the museum comprises Korolyov’s memorial room and the Hall of Fame of company’s employees.
